Crib Bedding

Max is moving around like crazy in his crib. We often find him completely turned around and up against the side of the crib. So I decided it was time to finally get some actually crib bedding with a bumper and stuff. We found some on Overstock for a good price and bought it before discovering that ebay has better deals on crib bedding. The set from Overstock was 4 pieces for $59 (including shipping and taxes). On ebay, a 9 piece set could go for $50-60. I'm returning the Overstock set.
I started looking at what I wanted on ebay and found this set. I discovered that some of these sets go for over $40 if people bid them up. But the same set is always for sell again just a few hours later. So you just have to watch for one that isn't being bid up. I found one, put in a bid of $5.50 + $19.95 shipping and handling, and I won it. I couldn't believe it - that's sooooo cheap! This same set sold for $35 and $60 (including shipping) just in the last 24 hours and I got it for $25. I love ebay.
It is pretty gender neutral and since Anthea told me I'm having two more girls besides Max (I decided they're going to be twins by the way), I figure we can use this set with them too. It doesn't come with the wall hangings but for $25, I'll pay the $20 to buy the wall hangings separate. And I don't want the lampshade or mobile so we're good!

Max's Doctor Visit

Max had his four month checkup last week. These are his stats from his doctor visits:

1 week old:
Weight: 6 lbs. 8 oz. 9th percentile
Height: 20 in. 43rd percentile
Head: 14 in. 32nd percentile

1 month old:
Weight: 7 lbs. 15 oz. 10th percentile
Height: 20.75 in. 23rd percentile
Head: 15 in. 49th percentile

2 months old:
Weight: 10 lbs. 6 oz. 24th percentile
Height: 22 in. 22nd percentile
Head: 16 in. 72nd percentile

4 months old:
Weight: 15 lbs. 3 oz. 54th percentile
Height: 25 in. 43rd percentile
Head: 17 in. 68th percentile

This is more for me than anyone else but it's fun to look at how he's grown. He's certainly doing just fine.

Family Reunion

We went up to Utah County last weekend for Chris' family reunion. Four out of the nine kids in Chris' family had kids within seven months of each other. We tried to get some good pictures of all of them together. (Click on the picture to see the names since they are small here.)

We tried to get another good picture on Sunday but it's hard to get four kids under the age of 1 to all look good at the same time.

This is what was behind the kids in the last two pictures but it doesn't show up very well in those pictures so I had to include this one of Reed's family (Chris' brother). It's on the side of my in-laws house and I wish I had taken a family picture there too.
At the reunion.

Trip to North Carolina

We went to visit my family in North Carolina over Labor Day weekend. We took direct flights out of Las Vegas and Max did great on the way out (not a single peep!), but fussed a little coming back. It wasn't too bad though. The plane was pretty full on our way back. But with an infant, everyone still avoided the empty seat next to us so we had a full row to ourselves both ways. That was so nice that we really didn't mind people avoiding us like the plague.

I have a brother and sister that live near my parents with their two kids each and a brother in Maryland at med school who came down for the weekend too. His wife is expecting in February and I was surprised she felt up to the trip. It was great to see them since I don't know how often we'll get to in the future. I've heard med school keeps you busy...

Max is constantly trying (and sometimes succeeding) to fit his whole fist in his mouth. Sometimes he gags himself.
My Mom and Max
Max in his swimming trunks. He didn't get in the pool much but he likes to be outside.Lonna (my one niece out there) playing with Max. My sister's one year old, Colin, drinking from the (empty) Coke can. He was hilarious with it.
Max is so cute and so sweet; especially right now when he's been asleep for 2 1/2 hours and is letting me get stuff done around the house. He's definitely my child though. He already loves to be upside down, up in the air, or playing with the dogs.

The dogs stayed with our friend in Las Vegas and her four border collies. I don't think they wanted to come home. Murphy slept in bed with our friend and I think she likes her better than us now. :)

Not Going Private Yet

Hi Everyone,

I'm not going to make my blog private yet but I am curious who reads. If you haven't commented lately on my blog and you have a minute, can you please email imgoingprivate@yahoo.com? I set the email up just in case I decided to go private (which again - I'm not) and I'll post a notice if I ever decide to go private and need you to email the address. And I don't mind people I don't know reading the blog so feel free to email me. Thanks!

I found what I want for my birthday on craigslist: 12 FT Trampoline - $50 (St George, UT )

Chris said no though :( because he says we don't have anywhere to put it. We will eventually though. Maybe I should start a poll to see how many people think I should get it.

Not One Picture of the Dogs

Max on August 7th - 3 months old! He loves his bumbo.

I love this face.

This is a picture to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to my three wonderful aunts on my Dad's side. My Aunt Bev gave me these cute scrubs that I love, my Aunt Debbie made me this incredible quilt that Max loves and I think is one of the coolest things I've ever seen (I'll never have the talent or patience for quilting), and my Aunt Nancy gave me the Baby Einstein video on the TV that Max watches with complete rapture at least once a day. It's the best thing in the world when he gets bored! Aunt Nancy also gave me the cutest little crab outfit that is going with us to North Carolina next week!

Another picture of the adorable scrubs.I never posted about Max's blessing when he was three weeks old. Thanks for taking pictures Em! Erin - was this the profile picture you were talking about?

Our friends Ethan and Rachel let us borrow one of their baby blessing outfits. It's a little tux. It was so cute! Grandma Healy (Chris' grandma) made him this beautiful blanket that I have trouble using because it's so pretty.
Not a very good picture but a cute face. He's filled out a lot since being on formula!

Here's a cute picture of my niece Lyla on the day of Max's blessing. Babies' profiles are so cute.

Visit from Family

My brother Bryce, and his wife Cathi came to visit us before he heads off to med school at the University of Maryland. We took them to the slot canyon that is here in St. George. I didn't do it this time but everyone else did it and everyone fit! Though not without a few holes in both Chris' and Bryce's shirts. It was so tight that Bryce had to move his belt buckle or he couldn't get through.
Max spent the time in the Hotsling that my sister-in-law Erin recommended to me. I LOVE it because Max loves it! He always falls asleep in it. It's great because I can hold him hands-free!

Then we went to Zion really early Saturday morning and did as many hikes as we could before we were dying from the heat.
Max got to try out the latest Craigslist purchase that day. I also LOVE my new jogging stroller. Maybe now I'll start exercising...
I'm really glad they could come visit before they move. I'm going to miss having them in the same state.
